Born and raised in the Czech Republic, originally from Vietnam, Ymy is a trilingua fashion design student, highly motivated and curious individual. Her strong sense of adaptability enables her to easily get out of her comfort zone, encouraging herself to learn and experience new perspectives. This multidisciplinary major has taught her many skills, but most importantly she has reached new possibilities in herself. As a fashion design graduate she has been able to work in many different creative roles that appear in a creative fashion team. Her interests include climbing, playing the piano and exploring new outdoor experiences as she is a thrill seeker. In the near future, she would love to work for a brand that specializes in outerwear.
Thesis Title: IM|BALANCE
The collection “IMBALANCE” visualizes the hardships of balancing work and leisure through formal wear and the climbing world. The collection consists of formal wear and climbing archetypes clothing items that are transformed from typical traditional silhouettes into movement and statement pieces. This collection reminds us of the everyday struggle of trying to balance work life and a personal life; reminding us that the beauty of life is not about harmony but about the ups and downs in life, just like in climbing.
