Miyo Van Stenis

Profile

Artist and curator specialized in New Media Art, born in Caracas, Venezuela, Mïyo Van Stenis' work explores the fields of technology: interfaces, operating systems, software and devices involved in the Internet, but she also has a series of projects related to the socio-political crisis in Venezuela. 

Van Stenis has a Fine Arts Mention: New Medias in UNEARTE – National Experimental University of Art at Caracas, Venezuela (2012). 

Her exhibitions include: Digital Museum of Digital art – DiMoDa at Dubai, NYC, Miami and RISD Museum.  DATABIT.ME artist-in-residency(2015-2016) Arles, France; Art Platerforme Paris, France; Placentia Arte, Milan; International Gif Contest, special award, Paris; Arebyte Gallery, London; Queens Museum, Queens; The Wrong Biennale I & II; API {dot} ART Workshop at Google Cultural Institute. Paris; Noname Gallery, Hangzhou Chine; Maison des Arts de Créteil, Ccréteil; Transfer Gallery, NYC; NNM Studio, Lima; Museum of the Moving Image, NYC; Rhizome Art Base Collection, NYC. Van Stenis' curatorial projects are centered on the criticism and the aesthetics of new medias/technologies: DeOrigenBelico (2010) Beautiful Interfaces (2013) P2P Gallery. Founder member of the activist group: Dismantling the Simulation (2014).
