Profile

Max Thomas Sanderson is a designer, tailor, and craftsman who was born on the island state of Tasmania, Australia.

He attended the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, studying for a BA in fashion design and graduating with First Class Honours with a focus on menswear. Sanderson’s collection won second place in the Australian Fashion Foundation Graduate Prize sponsored by the Woolmark Company.

Following graduation, he worked in a bespoke tailoring atelier where he continued to hone his skills as a craftsman. Later he relocated to Paris to undertake the Post Graduate Program at l’Institut Français de la Mode and afterward worked within the menswear team at Hermès.

Max continues his process-based fashion practice focused on the creation of artisanal, contemporary tailoring defined by unique methods of cutting and construction.
