    Profile

Alexandra Helminger is a fashion designer, born in Austria but having lived and worked in Germany, Belgium and France. She moved to Paris in 2014 when she joined Lanvin, where, under the direction of Alber Elbaz, she worked on both main collections and pre-collections.

Alexandra received her BA and MA in Fashion Design from The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 2013. Her MA collection was included in the 2013 Festival for Fashion and Photography at the Museum für angewandte Kunst (MAK) in Vienna. It was during her time at the Academy that she discovered working in 3D, which allowed her to experiment with volumes and proportions, and their effects on our perception of the body and space.

Alexandra previously studied Art History at the University of Vienna, and worked as a costume designer for a number of theatre productions in Germany.
