Suzanne Snider is a research-based artist, writer and educator whose work is informed by oral history theory and methods. She is the recipient of repeat fellowships from Yaddo and the MacDowell Colony in support of her writing and audio work, which has appeared freqently in The Believer as well as The Washington Post,The Guardian, BOMB,and Legal Affairs. She is the Founder/Director of Oral History Summer School and has offered oral history training and consultation for organizations including the Harvard Graduate School of Design, Radiolab, the National Public Housing Museum, the National Library of Kosovo and the Center for Reproductive Rights. With support from the Mellon Foundation, she co-founded (with journalist Allison Lichter) the Trauma and Journalism Workgroup, which seeks to support journalists reporting on trauma and violence. She teaches nonfiction writing, documentary experiments, oral history, and song hunting courses in NYC.
