Kendall Rodriguez

Profile

Kendall Rodriguez is an Emmy award winning photojournalist and documentary filmmaker.

Kendall won an Emmy in 2022 for his work on the documentary “On The Shoulders of Giants.” In this documentary, Kendall and the staff at Newsday chronicle the death of George Floyd and the 8:46 it took for him to die at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer.

Kendall has a Master of Science from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and has a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communications from SUNY College at Old Westbury.

Kendall began his career freelancing for the community newspapers in Brooklyn as a photographer. He later took on breaking news daily general assignments for newspapers like the New York Post, and later moved on to the New York Daily News where he was the weekend night photo editor.

Kendall currently freelances full time for NewsdayTV, and provides director of photography services for film and video projects for various private, public, and government clients.

Kendall recently directed his boxing Documentary “Born to Fight," which documents a fighters climb to the number one spot.
