Profile
In addition to teaching, I am also publisher/editor of PAJ Publications and PAJ: A Journal of Performance and Art, a company I founded. (www.mitpressjournals.org/paj) Over the decades my work as an arts writer and editor has brought me into contact with several generations of artists working worldwide in theatre, dance, video, music, installations, and digital culture. This first-hand knowledge of artistic process and the world of artists is an experience that I draw on in my teaching. Besides writing essays on performance and travel abroad for editing and research, I have taught and lectured in many American and European universities. At Lang I curate a series called Art Work, which invites innovative artists for evening presentations on their artistic process.
