The New School recently welcomed a new senior vice president and chief information officer, Anand Padmanabhan. Anand will guide Information Technology priorities in support of academic goals and The New School's efforts to become a more operationally effective and service-oriented university.
Anand was recently named one of India’s Top 100 CIOs by CIO magazine (a coveted recognition by IT leaders in India). He brings significant experience and achievement in leading technology innovation in educational organizations. As chief information officer for the Shiv Nadar Foundation, he set IT strategy for a large organization that encompasses a research university, a college of engineering, and other programs.
Previously, Anand directed IT strategy for Everonn Education Limited in Chennai, India; NYU’s Stern School of Business; Hunter College; Seton Hill University in Pennsylvania; and the NASA-sponsored Classroom of the Future. He has an MBA from the Stern School and an MS from Louisiana State University. He received his bachelor’s degree from Madras University in India.
