I

Our project takes the form of a strategic advocacy group aiming to educate and activate New Yorkers on the issue of stormwater flooding. We began by investigating stormwater flooding in New York City. After speaking with experts and conducting our own primary research, we found that the main challenge was a lack of awareness among New Yorkers regarding stormwater flooding and resilience. This is significant because there haven’t been any major efforts to promote awareness or educate city residents on this subject. Our approach, dubbed Guerilla GSI, focuses on implementing small-scale green infrastructure interventions throughout the city. These initiatives are aimed at drawing attention to the critical problems of flooding and climate displacement, directing people toward actionable steps through our website.
