Watching actors like Jodie Foster and Julia Roberts portray powerful women on screen shaped me into the woman I am today. Today, I still have the same passion for seeing powerful women in movies, partnered with a drive to become a Hollywood executive who can promote female storytellers. As I dove into my thesis, looking for female executives to draw inspiration from, I was shocked to find that there were very few. This led me to my hypothesis that if there are not enough female executives in major studios and networks, women in other parts of the industry will not have the space they need to advance. My hypothesis was proven correct, but not by me. On October 5, 2017, the New York Times broke the Harvey Weinstein story, which was soon followed by other allegations of misconduct by members of Hollywood's Bad Boys Club. We learned this because strong women used their voices to speak up and tell their stories. I have my own voice and a passion for promoting the presence of women in the industry. That meant I could do one thing create a podcast. The podcast is set to follow me along my journey into the industry as a Hollywood hopeful. Along the way, I'll be interviewing women about all aspects of the industry, from being in front of the camera to working as production crew grips. I want to tell their stories, shed light on why female empowerment is so vital in this industry, and garner support for myself as I begin my career.  See more on issuu .
