Alex Levin and Ryan Riegner

When Alex Levin, BBA Strategic Design and Management, and Ryan Riegner, BFA Communication Design, met as students at Parsons, they almost immediately began collaborating on a business venture, creating the Web design company Albino Rhino in their dorm room. The two got their first gig creating logos and a website for a tool company. “It was like 400 bucks,” Riegner jokes. “And our website was in Flash,” adds Levin.
Advising

After graduation, they started a fashion brand, moonlighting to support the business by “helping technology companies apply a better aesthetic and better visual for their customers.” Realizing that this work was more profitable, the pair decided to give up the fashion brand and focus full-time on digital consulting, eventually forming the agency L+R.

Today, L+R offers services includes brand strategy, app development, research and usability testing, and graphic design. The firm has built apps for Unilever, designed branding for Amazon, and created VR experiences for Louis Vuitton. And Levin and Riegner’s business has expanded; L+R now maintains offices in Milan, Barcelona, Brooklyn, and Los Angeles. Clients are drawn to L+R by its A-to-Z approach and extreme attention to detail. Levin believes that the firm’s success stems from combining these two qualities.

“When a designer wants to help a coder do their job better and the developer is excited about that — that’s what we strive for on our team,” Levin says. “And at Parsons, I found that same spirit of collaboration.”
