Colby Lamson-Gordon

Profile

Colby Lamson-Gordon explores Chinese intercountry adoption and its enduring effects on a fragmented world. Using archives, found footage, and internet aesthetics, they explore the biopolitics of displacement through nineties globalization from personal and material perspectives. Lamson-Gordon works with expanded documentary and experimental portraiture through chemically distorted photographs and found sculpture. Exhibitions include the Every Woman Biennial (2026), Film Diary NYC (2025), Ridgewood Off‑Kilter Film Festival (2025), Residency Unlimited (2024) and more. They have held residencies at NARS Foundation and Vermont Studio Center. Lamson-Gordon received an MFA from Parsons School of Design and a BA from Barnard College.
