Partnerships

Launched in 2023, this innovative collaboration with New Victory Theater provides unique performance opportunities for School of Drama students and paves the way for inspiring new work development for young audiences. New Victory has been recognized by Americans for the Arts with a national Arts Education Award and by the Drama Desk for “providing enchanting, sophisticated children’s theater that appeals to the child in all of us, and for nurturing a love of theater in young people.”

Graduate students explore Pink Fang’s methods for developing new works, which include devising, movement work, documentary theater, and creative producing. They engage with the Undesirable Elements series, an ongoing practice of creating interview-based theater works exploring culture, identity, and belonging in specific communities. After applying these approaches to their artistic, collaborative, or community work, students work in an ensemble to develop a piece centered on creative producing and community engagement. In July 2025, Ping Chong and Company became Pink Fang. 

Since 2013, Naked Angels has been part of the School of Drama’s creative community, bringing diverse and innovative voices together to enrich the theatrical landscape. The “1st Mondays at The New School” series offers emerging playwrights from the Naked Angels community a vital platform to showcase their work, providing them with invaluable exposure and networking opportunities. School of Drama students interact with and learn from these emerging talents, gaining insight into the creative process and forging connections within the industry through participation as actors in Naked Angels readings and productions.
