Character Legacies: Society Through the Lens of the Teen Titans
My project, Character Legacies: Society Through the Lens of the Teen Titans, is a book investigating how entertainment, pop culture, and storytelling have continued to evolve in relation to the cultural and social mores found throughout society. The transformation each character and story undergo from adaptation to adaptation can be a mirror into a society’s core values and concepts throughout history. This case study into a group of characters — known as the Teen Titans, a group that appeared in the 1960s yet still are written about today — offers insights regarding the ways society has changed over time and to the present day.
