Designing for Future Workspace for New York City Bicycle Food Delivery Essential Workers
My project is about designing a future workspace for essential workers and looking at the way in which society considers the safety and value of this workforce within our civic fabric. The role of the interior designer can lead the way in an effort to integrate all types of work within our society in a dignified and equitable way as part of our civic life and communities. By expanding the idea of workspace from a traditional office to be more inclusive of the essential worker that maintains the critical infrastructure of our communities, the interior designer can play an integral part in this effort. This project requires the interior designer to establish aspirations and goals about the selected essential workers and then explore multivalent design solutions.
