Clouds in my backyard!
Set in New York, a city with an immensely dense built environment, numerous underutilized spaces hide just above our heads. Either used as leisure spaces for the rich or as places New Yorkers sneak into to stargaze, rooftops are spaces that city dwellers
in general lack equal rights to use as a part of their home or community. With this project, I seek to make the inaccessible functional, the padlocked unbolted, and the unseen visible. My thesis is positioned as a love letter to rooftops; underutilized
rooftops are activated to provide the public with the agency to use these spaces for forming communities and commuting.
