Punk Protest / Camp Costuming

Media Block Image

In partnership with a Brooklyn fashion and art studio, MA Fashion Studies students created Punk Protest / Camp Costuming, an exhibition presenting garments, accessories, and graphics materials documenting the ways subcultural streetwear acts as a powerful language of political and cultural resistance and identity-making. Students invited the public to take part in creative public programming—badge-making, DIY T-shirt printing, and textile workshops—and created a companion online exhibition and research microsite.
