My thesis is a proposal for the Roland Analogue Inn. Nothing against the Internet, but there’s a pleasure in getting away from its noise. The Roland is Palm Spring’s first Analogue Inn. Just two hours from LA, we shut off the digital world so writers can write, musicians can play, and anyone who wants to can hear themselves think for a few days. Yes, there’s electricity. There are even radios, turntables, and a few color TVs with VCRs. There are also books. And pool water. And peace. Just don’t ask the front desk for the Wi-Fi password.
