    Parallel
My project, Parallel, is an historical object archive housed in the vacant 2nd floor of 300 Ashland Place, a luxury condominium building located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Over the past five months, I have conducted an historical and anthropological analysis of downtown Brooklyn, during which time I found significant parallels between the societal exclusion taking place in New York City during the 1970s disco era and the displacement occurring today as a result of the present-day gentrification crisis. Parallel attests to the importance of designing inclusive spaces within luxury developments in order to preserve the city's rich history. Just because something is luxury does not mean it needs to be private.
