After submitting initial concept pitches, 18 semi-finalists were chosen and divided into interdisciplinary teams. Teams then spent a weekend brainstorming and prototyping design concepts that embedded payment functionality in products and garments.

The judges - from MADE, Parsons, & MasterCard - selected three winners. The winners included a payment-enabled shoe, a system that pushes the limit of human interaction by creating a way to pay with a handshake, and
