Reclusiveness
My project, a collection titled Reclusiveness, addresses the question: When we are injured by the human world, can we heal ourselves by returning to nature? My collection was inspired by Chinese landscape paintings, whose theme is the return to nature. I created two garments, each decorated with a landscape painting in 3D form. For the first garment, I employed the subtraction cutting method as a means of minimizing waste. I used ink-splash textures to suggest clouds surrounding a mountain. The second garment is a simple shift dress, accompanied by a large scarf made up of 17 ellipsoids, also embellished with ink-splash textures.
