Advising

The AUX House residences are designed as homes for young people who have committed acts that would have been crimes if they were adults. The goal in these renderings is to create a space that teaches residents about the boundaries of freedom and co-existence.

The project, which uses modular panels and an open plan, allows residents to control their spaces. But with this control comes both responsibility and a need to compromise. Respecting the space and property of the others while organizing space is essential to the functionality of the homes. Supplies and objects—much as in society—are limited. Many residents will have demand for a limited resource, and they must work together to utilize that resource collectively. The aim is to promote a shared economy and functional coexistence among residents—features involving behaviors that can be applied in the real world. The space serves as a microsociety designed to teach behavior. visilek.com
