PROTEST FOOD
PROTEST FOOD examines how food has served as a means of resistance throughout history and worldwide. It consists of 1) a workshop in which participants create personalized mooncakes with their own protest messages stamped on them—a concept inspired by Hong Kong's 2019 Anti-Extradition Mooncakes; 2) an interactive online archive documenting the role of food in social movements (protestfood.com); and 3) a book featuring nine stories and interviews about ways food is used as a means of resistance around the world today.
