Nikka Solatorio
As She Blooms
This mini-collection was designed to make women feel as if they were in a different world, embracing the idea of beauty. It was inspired by my own notions of femininity and beauty, evoked through floral motifs. The use of flowers reflects their importance in a variety of cultures, as evidenced in mythology, folklore, and plays. The collection incorporates the shape and silhouettes of flora and hints at their allegorical significance.
The petals of the flowers featured on both garments were all made by hand and sewn to the fabric. In the first look, the top and bow were made of double-face silk satin; the skirt was made of silk gazar. The second garment was made entirely of silk gazar.
