Naiky Paradis

Healing Gardens

This project treats water as not only an environmental concern but also an approach to conscious healing. A bathhouse and a series of herbal healing gardens become companion treatments to the model of a Maggie's Center - a space for cancer patients participating in western cancer treatments. Based on a sequence extracted from the ancient baths of Rome, Egypt, and Turkey, the bathhouse embodies a physical and emotional journey through chambers of warm, hot and cold waters.
