Advising
A woman's hair influences her experiences, forms relationships, starts conversations, and is used as a source of social exchange. Hair is one of the most common topics of conversation amongst black women, and as a result, it becomes a physical manifestation of self-identity. Hair is a freedom of expression that gives women the power and control to define their own beauty. The Hairspace Project is a digital publication for progressive discussion and documentation of black hair and women. Through curation and collaboration, it serves as a platform for artwork, reflections, interviews, and hair stories that reflect on black women's appearance from their own point of view and in relationship to their hair.
