Our Uniform

Our Uniform

Our Uniform is a video created and directed, in collaboration with Alpha Industries, by Morgan Sinden, Preksha Chandran, and Sofia Papetti of the MPS Fashion Management program. It is part of a campaign to honor the legacy of Alpha Industries' MA-1 Bomber Jacket, 60 years after United States military leaders commissioned the apparel company to design a combat coat.

The project demonstrates how the concept of "uniform dressing" enables a jacket rooted in military history to evolve beyond its original purpose and become part of diverse personal wardrobes. That is, that one's individual style may be expressed through core pieces that collectively define an identifiable personal aesthetic. Our campaign demonstrates this by presenting three individuals whose fashion tastes include the Alpha Industries MA-1 Bomber—a garment that has become associated with streetwear and skate culture—but who style the jacket in dffferent ways to reflect their unique personalities. In doing so, these brand representatives champion a uniform of their own making and embrace the jacket’s relevance to a variety of modern contexts.

After reviewing several student proposals for a campaign, Alpha Industries selected our video as the best representation of their brand and featured it on their social media platforms.
