this description, along with my work, is a documentation of something that happened. the body of work i am presenting is, quite literally, bodies at work, in action, or in performance. thus, i create a universe where these bodies can play and become the things we have collected to represent us or objects that have been sold to make our lives easier. we are to experience the body as an object amid the environment it is found in. i am exploring the idea of bodies as objects, as counterintuitive as that sounds. as people, we love to claim things as our own and collect objects that represent who we are, carefully curating our surroundings to be of us. it’s no surprise that our environment plays a role in how we see ourselves, others, and the world. i am asking who we are in our environment, away from any distractions, the body as it is, bare and naked. we are the greatest thing we can care for, yet we seem to forget to do so. all images in this body of work are of nude bodies, showing everything the human body has to offer, leaving nothing to be imagined. the bodies in these images become the objects they are mimicking, as in a terrible game of hide-and-seek. i look at these images as documents of a performance. though we all perform every day, these performances are much more playful than life in all its seriousness. everything we do is an act showing who we are and what we represent. it’s a play that has no end, a constant performance of being and doing. this is my work.
