MoMA @lbany

Advising

MoMA @lbany explores the potential for revitalization of industrial cities through the transformation of abandoned factories. Using as its case site the South End of Albany, New York, the project proposes an “industrial museum” that makes use of local warehouses as exhibition spaces for contemporary art. The design includes areas for both exhibition and fabrication, connecting visitors with the production process and the history of the buildings. MoMA @lbany also acts as a bridge between the city and the waterfront, from which public access is now cut off by an elevated highway, railroad, and truck thruway.
