Your Mind Is Not Your Own
An exploration of cults and the extremes to which people go to feel that they belong and are a part of something greater. This collection of draped silhouettes in powdered whites was inspired by the blue collar uniform and straight jackets. It features many fabric manipulations and texture explorations, and it uses ties in unique ways. My goal is to create thought-provoking clothing that innovatively binds classic tailoring with an edgy yet understated New York state of mind. I hope to redefine the landscape of women’s wear, as I am a firm supporter of slow fashion and local tailors and pattern makers. I also believe in using resources effectively, so that people will have quality garments with integrity that will withstand use over time.
