The Collective What

Advising
We should learn to love each other outside of time… detached”
- Marcello, La Dolce Vita

We seem to remember and rank an event not by the importance of the information or relevance to us, but by how long ago it happened. News used to be synonymous with large headlines spanning across the front page of a newspaper, but with the rise in digital communication we have begun to receive our information through Twitter feeds and other snippets.

Through the medium of newsprint, The Collective What is a visual exploration of the news from the past year, some tragic and some trivial, to suggest new ways of remembering. Like Marcello in La Dolce Vita, we can then focus on the connections we make, rather than when or how they happened.
