Elder Tree Mother Plate Set
Blooming from a teapot, unfurling from the vines of the Elder Tree, the Elder Tree Mother emerges. A retelling of the Hans Christian Andersen tale of the same name, this set of plates depicts the characters’ journey through the seasons, which forms the seeds of intergenerational storytelling. The plates recall the stories told by the townswomen who were the source of Andersen’s tales. Each plate presents one scene from the story and is meant to be used for one course.
