In 2015, China alone produced 80 billion pairs of wooden disposable chopsticks. With more than a quarter of the world’s population using chopsticks on a daily basis, disposable wood chopsticks are placing a heavy burden on our ecosystem, causing health issues and other problems. Splintered investigates the problems caused by the production of disposable wood chopsticks and proposes strategically calibrated solutions that are balanced and harmonious with the systems that support our lives.
