ReRoot: Exploring strategies to make information about the food system readily accessible to consumers

Advising
There have been numerous initiatives intended to bring about transparency in the food system, to encourage people to buy local, and to reduce the vast influence of Big Food companies on our health, our lifestyles, and the planet. During two semesters of research, ideation, and prototyping, I explored the idea of providing objective information about food directly at the point of purchase or consumption. This could mean unveiling the "true cost" of the food, or illustrating the journey of one's food to the plate. My research culminates with a test-project collaboration between myself and industry partners in wheat and coffee.  See more on issuu .
