    Advising
Me Voy Pal Otro Lao is the first part of a series portraying a future Puerto Rico. It takes the form of garments, objects, and video narrative. In a politically unstable time, this work explores themes of mass migration, collective memory, climate change, and identity through a tropical futurist lens. The narrative is centered on the life of Nena, a working-class young mutant in the Puerto Rico of 2117, who is auditioning to be part of a contest, Me Voy Pal Otro Lao. The winner gets to leave Puerto Rico, to live life in a place full of promise for new beginnings and hope for a better future.
