Craft has always captivated me, as an art practice that creates a product with human hands. Textile design is a craft whose process can involve any combination of complete spontaneity and meticulous planning. The interplay between the two makes the creative process thrilling. Learning to create traditional textiles gave me a deeper understanding of, and a stronger connection to, the materials used in fashion and in everyday dress. These textiles were created by knitting on a Dubied machine, weaving, and screen printing.
