Cen Si

Cen Si is a Parsons graduate originally from China and raised in Finland. As a pianist and composer who studied music from a young age, she uses a unique system to translate her musical compositions into fashion, incorporating technology and digital interaction to connect the boundaries of music, performance and fashion. In her thesis collection, prints are visualizations of melodies and colors represent emotions triggered by sounds. The improvised tune behind each look can be accessed with QR codes: You could wear the garment and simultaneously listen to the source of its inspiration, if you so chose. With a heavy focus on print design and color, Cen uses a rich color palette in her collection to create a quirky, slightly athletic style that reflects her musical compositions.
