Selfscape: Transformations

Advising
Selfscape: Transformations is an exploration of an emergent methodology of interior and lighting design practice through the photographic image, working with people in their homes. First, one photograph is taken to understand the existing conditions of their domestic life. Then a second photograph is taken after the collaborative design of subtle and meaningful transformations to the same space. The participant then keeps both photographs as an artifact of the transformation - a new way of seeing. This thesis features eight participants in total. Each set of photographs is complemented with a set of plan drawings, a written narrative, and a photo-sketch, all of which now live as a collection in a book. This work is ongoing.
