    Advising
A menagerie is a type of zoo that houses rare and exotic animals. It conjures images of decadence, as it was once popular among European aristocrats. The idea behind Menagerie Nightclub is that the guests are the beautiful creatures who are part of a collection. The architectural framework of the space is derived from Chinese folding lacquer screens, which often depict animals in elegant compositions. The screens were manipulated to form passageways, shelves, and frames which display life-sized animal statues. The materials used in the space are highly tactile and compel the guests to touch. They include crocodile-embossed vinyl, fur-patterned velvets, and exotic woods such as Macassar. The effect is mysterious, evocative, and exciting.
