  • Thesis Collection (Pathway: Materiality/All-Gender)

    Andrew Davis

This collection began at the end of the summer of 2018 after the death of my grandmother.

This work engages with the small physical environment she lived in.

However, the most important message I would like this work to communicate is: Integrity of Material.

This collection was made entirely of post-consumer garment waste. This collection is the beginning of a second lifecycle of post-consumer material that would otherwise be discarded. This material is repurposed with pride and is engaged with in ways that elevate it from its preconceived use. It is important that designers and consumers alike uphold the quality of materials they engage with in order to sustain a balanced physical and emotional environment.
