    Advising

This project draws inspiration from the composer Philip Glass, who started his career in New York during the 1960s. The design process began with a study of his solo piano piece “Metamorphosis 2.” The piece is representative of his musical identity, which is based in repeating structures. The proposed design is aimed at consolidating various services provided by the organization into one structure, mimicking the structure of music, while introducing mass timber architecture to the Cast Iron district of SoHo. The design will facilitate a horizontal influx of users at the street level, as well as a vertical flux into the organization, creating an opportunity for a switch in user roles—from service seeker to service provider.
