As the recipient of the Kahn Career Award for Exceptional Talent, Vasi works as a fashion designer and illustrator for various clients in the US and Europe including Patrik Schumacher & Zaha Hadid Architects, VPL –Victoria Bartlett,Calvin Klein,Clinique, Ester Lauder, Darphin-Paris. Some of her work is published in The Big Book of Contemporary Illustration by M. Dawber and Fashion Drawing by fellow SoF part-time faculty member Michele Bryant. Her fine art pieces based of fashion illustration are exhibited internationally.
In addition to fashion design work she is also recognized costume designer. Vasi's costume designs have been predominantly commissioned for theatre pieces by the award winning director Blanca Zizka. Her credentials include When the Rain stops Falling, Sir Tom Stoppard’sThe Hard Problem(The American Premiere), Hamlet, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead, Don Juan Comes Home From Iraq by Paula Vogel(Recipient of The Pulitzer Prize Award) and Leaving by Václav Havel , with the Oscar nominee David Strathairn (The Wilma Theater), The Daughters of the Mood (Edinburgh Festival), Cosi Fan Tutte (Huntington Theatre), Venus, Necessary Targets, Godspell, La Lorona (The Beckett Theatre, NYC), and The Magic Flute(film).
Vasi worked also as a fabric painter for leading New York studio Parson Meares on Broadway including The Lion King, Wicked, Spamalot, Dracula, and Disney’s Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc., and Aladdin.
She is additionally a faculty member at the Fashoin Institute of Technology for MFA program.
Vasi received MFA in Design from Boston University and BFA in Fashion & Costume Design from University of Design in Belgrade, Serbia.
