Faculty

Stacy Seiler is a multi-disciplinary designer, fine artist and fashion journalist. Her body of work ranges from precisionist architectural drawings, to mixed media collage and sculptural forms that intertwine 19th century photos with objects from nature, found poetry, fibers and antiquated tools. What remains consistent is her desire to reconnect the lost history of a person, place or era, by using visual metaphor to suspend the viewer between past and present. Stacy’s work has received features in Drawing Magazine, Photo Trouvée Magazine, Common Ground, Oyedrum and Artistonish. She has exhibited in notable institutions, including: Sotheby's, CH, The Gould-Guggenheim Estate, Swiss General Consulate NY, Fashion Institute of Technology, Moravian University, The National Arts Club, Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art and The Painting Center. She has been interviewed by Drawing Magazine and The Boston Globe. 

In addition to her art practice, Stacy is the Art Editor of IRK Magazine, Paris (2016-) for which she conducts interviews and produces feature articles on the work of innovative fashion designers and artists, including: Maurizio Cattelan, Li Edelkoort, GL Wood, Michael De Feo, Yuima Nakazato, CuteCircuit and Studio Drift. Prior to IRK, she was the Contributing Writer of Arts and Culture at Downtown Magazine, NY (2011-2016). Stacy began her role as a Part-time Assistant Professor at Parsons in 2005, following a 10-year career as a Graphic/Web Designer and Programmer working for such notable firms as Agora Publishing, e.magination and Sundberg & Associates while specializing in the corporate identity, branding and information design/architecture of Fortune 500 companies. Selected Clients: News Corporation, McGraw Hill, AIG, Fleet-Meehan, Andy Borowitz: The Borowitz Report, Battery Park City Authority and Waverly Home.

Stacy holds an extensive background in design education and curriculum development. She coordinated the Summer Intensive Studies, Design Studio program and lecture series (2010-2019), which featured renownd guest lecturers, including: Chip Kidd, Ellen Lupton and Keanan Duffty. Stacy has previously held the titles of Coordinator of the Parsons Scholars Program (2005-2012), Faculty Representative for the Fulbright Review Committee (2015), Faculty Representative for the Assessment of Student Learning Committee (2013-2014), finalist for the New School University's, Distinguished Teaching Award (2012), and Faculty Representative for L.I.S.A. (Low Income Student Alliance) (2008-2009). Stacy received a BFA with a Minor in Art History from The Maryland Institute College of Art, an MFA from Parsons School of Design and a TESOL Certification from New School University.
