Sareh Imani

Profile

Sareh Imani is an artist and educator based in New York. Working across drawing, sculpture, and video installation, her multidisciplinary practice is grounded in close observation and systems-based thinking. Engaging the intersections of art and science, Imani draws on botanical illustration and scientific tools to examine fragility, transformation, and temporality. Her work unfolds through slow, attentive processes that reflect on systems of growth, decay, and perception.

Degrees Held

Imani received her MFA in Painting from the University of Tehran (2013) and an MFA from Parsons School of Design (2018). She has presented solo exhibitions at 56 Henry (2026) and A.I.R. Gallery (2020), as well as a two-person exhibition at North Loop Gallery, Williamstown, MA (2025). Her work has been included in group exhibitions across the United States, Europe, and the SWANA region, including Bronx Calling: The Fifth AIM Biennial at the Bronx Museum of the Arts, New York (2021); The University of Texas at Austin (2020); The Mine Gallery, Dubai (2016); Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Venice (2015); the 10th Gothenburg International Poetry Festival, Gothenburg (2015); and the 3rd Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts, Saba Art Academy, Tehran (2014).
