Profile

S Emsaki is an interdisciplinary artist from Isfahan, Iran, whose practice spans collage, printmaking, in-situ drawing, video, and archival intervention, examining petro-subjects, extraction, and material histories. She holds an MFA from Yale University, a BA from UC Berkeley, and is an alum of the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program. Emsaki’s work has been exhibited at Microscope Gallery, NY; Smack Mellon, NY; Ashkal Alwan’s aashra Programming in Beirut, Lebanon; the San Francisco Arts Commission Galleries, CA; Provincetown Art Association and Museum, MA; and Gallatin Galleries at NYU. She has participated in residencies and fellowships at Smack Mellon, NY; Yaddo, NY; Williams College, MA; Fine Arts Work Center, MA; Institute of Contemporary Art; and the Paul Mellon Centre in London. Emsaki is the 2024 recipient of the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation Residency at the International Studio & Curatorial Program and a 2025 recipient of the Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant.
