• Profile:

    Art historian, curator and writer; received undergraduate and graduate degrees in art history from the City University of New York, where he is currently a Ph.D. candidate. He also studied at Vassar College, Universite Laval, Columbia University, Institute of Fine Arts/NYU,  and is an alumnus of the Whitney Independent Study Program in Critical Studies. He has curated or co-curated over 100 exhibitions in the Americas, Asia, and Europe. Most recently, co-curator, Here Is Where We Jump, La Bienal 2013, El Museo Del Barrio, NY, NY; co-curator, City Without Walls, 2010 Liverpool Biennial; co-curator, 2009 Beijing 798 Biennial; co-curator, 2008 Seoul International Media Art Biennial; artistic director/curator, 2008 Yeosu International Art Festival; co-curator, Poles Apart Poles Together, 2005 Venice Biennial. He has published more than 200 texts and has contributed to more than 60 art-related books and catalogs. Some of his writings have been translated into Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Korean, German, Polish, Portuguese, and Spanish. He is a Corresponding Editor, Art Nexus, and other texts have been published in numerous perdiodicals including Art in Culture, [Art Notes], Contemporary, Flash Art, FRAMEWORK: The Finnish Art Review, Journal of the West, Tema Celeste, TRANS, and Zingmagazine.
