    Patrick Hughes


    Patrick Michael Hughes is a fashion and decorative arts historian centered around fashion images in culture and decoration with historical memory. In his writing and research the impetus are fashion narratives within multiple artistic and design experiences as well as textile innovations.  

    Hughes graduated with a BA in History of Art from Manhattanville College, after which he worked in the education department of the Washington National Cathedral followed by various press positions within New York fashion. Suceeding graduate intensives at Musée Les Arts Decoratifs in Paris he earned his MA in the History of Decorative Arts and Design from the Parsons/Cooper Hewitt Design Museum.

    He has extensive experience as a fashion reporter for the NY local news in the hyper-digital sector and he is currently a Senior Fashion Editor for a photography, art and fashion, non-profit publication and gallery based in France. His articles, interviews and editorial leads are connected to historical topics, artists and emerging creatives in New York and London.
