Michele Busiri Vici, the founding principal of Space4Architecture | S4A, brings over 20 years of experience to the field of architecture. He earned his Master of Architecture degree from La Sapienza University in Rome in 1995, where he studied under the distinguished Professor Luigi Pellegrin. After relocating to the United States in 1995, Michele founded Space4Architecture in New York in 1999. Since then, he has led the design of all the firm's projects, which include large-scale hospitality and residential buildings, private homes, interiors, and custom furniture.
In recent years, together with his partner Clementina Ruggieri they have participated in several international design competitions and have been awarded 1st prize for the most recent “Kips Island Auditorium” in Latvia.
Beginning in 2020 Michele, together with the S4A’s team, are part of Design Advocates, a platform for architects and designers to share resources and collaborate on efforts to serve the public good through pro bono projects, research, and advocacy.
In addition to his professional practice, Michele currently teaches Design Studio 1 as well as Representation & Analysis at Parsons School of Design, in New York. He has previously taught Design Studio at Pratt Institute's GAUD and Integrated Design at Columbia University. Michele is also a frequent visiting critic at several renowned architecture schools, including the Rhode Island School of Design, Pratt and Columbia University.
