Michael Morris

Profile

Michael Morris is a partner with Yoshiko Sato in the multidisciplinary architecture practice Morris Sato Studio in New York City. Morris was a Fulbright Scholar in199, and won a Young Architects Award and the Michael Kalil Fellowship for Smart Design. The work of Morris and Sato has be recognized with many awards including the Best Exhibition Design of the Year from the International Association of Art Critics and a Home of the Year Award from Architecture Magazine. The firm's work has appeared in Architectural Record, Architectural Digest, Architecture, Dwell, Interior Design, Metropolis, ID Magazine, Nikkei Architecture, Comfort, BOB International Space Design, Monitor magazines and in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and The Sunday Times of London, as well as is publications including Loft and 10 x 10 _2. Selected installations include Light between Shadow, Lawrence, Kansas; Projecting Shadows, Casting Impressions, NYC; Boxing Light, Amsterdam; Shiro Kuramata 1934-1991, NYC and Montreal,; Aluminum by Design, NYC; Light Islands - Echigo Tsumari Art Triennial, Nigata; LightShowers, Wilmington, DE and NYC; American Express Archives and Exhibition, NYC; and the DuPont Pavilion at the ICFF, NYC.
