Profile
Luisa Mantelli is a textile artist and educator whose work explores materiality, sustainability, and cultural memory. Trained as both an architect and artist, she brings an interdisciplinary perspective to her teaching, connecting theory and practice across design and fine arts. Her studio practice focuses on weaving, crocheting, embroidering, knitting, among other techniques and the reuse of materials, with projects that bridge traditional textile techniques and contemporary forms. Originally from Brazil and now based in New York, Luisa has exhibited internationally and maintains an active practice alongside her teaching.
